1요시야가 위에 나아갈 때에 나이 팔 세라 예루살렘에서 삼십일 년을 치리하니라 그 모친의 이름은 여디다라 보스갓 아다야의 딸이더라
KJVJosiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty and one years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Jedidah, the daughter of Adaiah of Boscath.

KJVAnd let them deliver it into the hand of the doers of the work, that have the oversight of the house of the Lord: and let them give it to the doers of the work which is in the house of the Lord, to repair the breaches of the house,

KJVUnto carpenters, and builders, and masons, and to buy timber and hewn stone to repair the house.

KJVHowbeit there was no reckoning made with them of the money that was delivered into their hand, because they dealt faithfully.

KJVAnd Hilkiah the high priest said unto Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of the Lord. And Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan, and he read it.

9서기관 사반이 왕에게 돌아가서 복명하여 가로되 왕의 신복들이 전에 있던 돈을 쏟아 여호와의 전 역사 감독자의 손에 붙였나이다 하고
KJVAnd Shaphan the scribe came to the king, and brought the king word again, and said, Thy servants have gathered the money that was found in the house, and have delivered it into the hand of them that do the work, that have the oversight of the house of the Lord.
영어 직역서기 사반이 왕에게 와서 왕께 다시 말을 전하여 말했다, 당신의 종들이 집 안에서 발견된 돈을 모아서 주의 집의 감독을 하는 일꾼들의 손에 넘겨주었습니다.
10또 왕에게 고하여 가로되 제사장 힐기야가 내게 책을 주더이다 하고 왕의 앞에서 읽으매
KJVAnd Shaphan the scribe shewed the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath delivered me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king.
영어 직역서기 사반이 왕께 보여주며 말했다, 제사장 힐기야가 나에게 책을 주었습니다. 그리고 사반이 왕 앞에서 그것을 읽었다.
11왕이 율법책의 말을 듣자 곧 그 옷을 찢으니라
KJVAnd it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the book of the law, that he rent his clothes.

KJVAnd the king commanded Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Achbor the son of Michaiah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asahiah a servant of the king’s, saying,

13너희는 가서 나와 백성과 온 유다를 위하여 이 발견한 책의 말씀에 대하여 여호와께 물으라 우리 열조가 이 책의 말씀을 듣지 아니하며 이 책에 우리를 위하여 기록된 모든 것을 준행치 아니하였으므로 여호와께서 우리에게 발하신 진노가 크도다
KJVGo ye, enquire of the Lord for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found: for great is the wrath of the Lord that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book, to do according unto all that which is written concerning us.
영어 직역나와 백성과 온 유다를 위하여 주께 물어보러 가되, 이 발견된 책의 말들에 대하여 물어보라. 우리 조상들이 이 책의 말들을 들음에 따라 우리에 관해 기록된 모든 것을 행하지 아니하였으므로 주의 노가 우리를 향해 크게 타올랐기 때문이라고 했다.

KJVSo Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asahiah, went unto Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the college;) and they communed with her.

KJVThus saith the Lord, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the words of the book which the king of Judah hath read:

17이는 이 백성이 나를 버리고 다른 신에게 분향하며 그 손의 모든 소위로 나의 노를 격발하였음이라 그러므로 나의 이곳을 향하여 발한 진노가 꺼지지 아니하리라 하라 하셨느니라
KJVBecause they have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore my wrath shall be kindled against this place, and shall not be quenched.

KJVBut to the king of Judah which sent you to enquire of the Lord, thus shall ye say to him, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, As touching the words which thou hast heard;

19내가 이곳과 그 거민에게 대하여 빈 터가 되고 저주가 되리라 한 말을 네가 듣고 마음이 연하여 여호와 앞 곧 내 앞에서 겸비하여 옷을 찢고 통곡하였으므로 나도 네 말을 들었노라 여호와가 말하였느니라
KJVBecause thine heart was tender, and thou hast humbled thyself before the Lord, when thou heardest what I spake against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and hast rent thy clothes, and wept before me; I also have heard thee, saith the Lord.
영어 직역네 마음이 부드러웠고, 내가 이 곳과 그곳의 주민에 대하여 말한 것을 들었을 때에 네가 주 앞에서 겸손히 자신을 낮췄으며, 네가 자기 옷을 찢고 내 앞에서 울었으므로, 나 역시 너를 들었노라고 주가 말씀하신다.
20그러므로 내가 너로 너의 열조에게 돌아가서 평안히 묘실로 들어가게 하리니 내가 이곳에 내리는 모든 재앙을 네가 눈으로 보지 못하리라 하셨느니라 사자들이 왕에게 복명하니라
KJVBehold therefore, I will gather thee unto thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered into thy grave in peace; and thine eyes shall not see all the evil which I will bring upon this place. And they brought the king word again.
