1제십일년 삼월 초 일일에 여호와의 말씀이 내게 임하여 가라사대
BSBIn the eleventh year, on the first day of the third month, the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

2인자야 너는 애굽 왕 바로와 그 무리에게 이르기를 네 큰 위엄을 뉘게 비하랴
BSB“Son of man, say to Pharaoh king of Egypt and to his multitude: ‘Who can be compared to your greatness?
KJVSon of man, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude; Whom art thou like in thy greatness?
영어 직역인자여, 애굽의 왕 바로와 그의 무리에게 말하라. 너의 위대함에서 누구와 같은가?
3볼지어다 앗수르 사람은 가지가 아름답고 그늘은 삼림의 그늘 같으며 키가 높고 꼭대기가 구름에 닿은 레바논 백향목이었느니라
BSBLook at Assyria, a cedar in Lebanon, with beautiful branches that shaded the forest. It towered on high; its top was among the clouds.
KJVBehold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with fair branches, and with a shadowing shroud, and of an high stature; and his top was among the thick boughs.
영어 직역보라, 아시리아인은 레바논의 백향목이었으니 아름다운 가지들을 가졌고, 그림자를 드리우는 잎으로 덮였으며, 높은 키였고, 그의 꼭대기는 굵은 가지들 사이에 있었다.
4물들이 그것을 기르며 깊은 물이 그것을 자라게 하며 강들이 그 심긴 곳을 둘러 흐르며 보의 물이 들의 모든 나무에까지 미치매
BSBThe waters made it grow; the deep springs made it tall, directing their streams all around its base and sending their channels to all the trees of the field.
KJVThe waters made him great, the deep set him up on high with her rivers running round about his plants, and sent out her little rivers unto all the trees of the field.
영어 직역물들이 그를 크게 하였고, 깊음이 자기의 강들을 그의 식물 주위로 흐르게 하여 그를 높이 세웠고, 들의 모든 나무들에게로 자기의 작은 강들을 보냈다.
5그 나무가 물이 많으므로 키가 들의 모든 나무보다 높으며 굵은 가지가 번성하며 가는 가지가 길게 빼어났고
BSBTherefore it towered higher than all the trees of the field. Its branches multiplied, and its boughs grew long as it spread them out because of the abundant waters.
KJVTherefore his height was exalted above all the trees of the field, and his boughs were multiplied, and his branches became long because of the multitude of waters, when he shot forth.
영어 직역그러므로 그의 높이는 들의 모든 나무들보다 높아졌고, 그의 가지들은 많아졌으며, 많은 물 때문에 그의 가지들이 길어졌으니, 그가 나올 때에라.
6공중의 모든 새가 그 큰 가지에 깃들이며 들의 모든 짐승이 그 가는 가지 밑에 새끼를 낳으며 모든 큰 나라가 그 그늘 아래 거하였었느니라
BSBAll the birds of the air nested in its branches, and all the beasts of the field gave birth beneath its boughs; all the great nations lived in its shade.
KJVAll the fowls of heaven made their nests in his boughs, and under his branches did all the beasts of the field bring forth their young, and under his shadow dwelt all great nations.
영어 직역하늘의 모든 새들이 그의 가지들에 둥지를 지었고, 들의 모든 짐승들이 그의 가지들 아래에서 새끼를 낳았으며, 그의 그림자 아래에서 모든 크고 많은 나라들이 살았다.
7그 뿌리가 큰 물가에 있으므로 그 나무가 크고 가지가 길어 모양이 아름다우매
BSBIt was beautiful in its greatness, in the length of its limbs, for its roots extended to abundant waters.
KJVThus was he fair in his greatness, in the length of his branches: for his root was by great waters.
영어 직역그러므로 그는 그의 위대함에서, 그의 가지들의 길이에서 아름다웠다. 이는 그의 뿌리가 큰 물 곁에 있었기 때문이다.
8하나님의 동산의 백향목이 능히 그를 가리우지 못하며 잣나무가 그 굵은 가지만 못하며 단풍나무가 그 가는 가지만 못하며 하나님의 동산의 아무 나무도 그 아름다운 모양과 같지 못하였도다
BSBThe cedars in the garden of God could not rival it; the cypresses could not compare with its branches, nor the plane trees match its boughs. No tree in the garden of God could compare with its beauty.
KJVThe cedars in the garden of God could not hide him: the fir trees were not like his boughs, and the chesnut trees were not like his branches; nor any tree in the garden of God was like unto him in his beauty.
영어 직역하나님의 정원의 백향목들도 그를 숨길 수 없었고, 잣나무들은 그의 가지들과 같지 아니하였으며, 밤나무들도 그의 가지들과 같지 아니하였고, 하나님의 정원의 어떤 나무도 그의 아름다움에서 그와 같지 아니하였다.
9내가 그 가지로 많게 하여 모양이 아름답게 하였더니 하나님의 동산 에덴에 있는 모든 나무가지가 다 투기하였느니라
BSBI made it beautiful with its many branches, the envy of all the trees of Eden, which were in the garden of God.’
KJVI have made him fair by the multitude of his branches: so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied him.
영어 직역내가 그의 많은 가지들로 그를 아름답게 하였으니, 하나님의 정원에 있던 에덴의 모든 나무들이 그를 시기하였다.
10그러므로 나 주 여호와가 말하노라 그의 키가 높고 꼭대기가 구름에 닿아서 높이 빼어났으므로 마음이 교만하였은즉
BSBTherefore this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Since it became great in height and set its top among the clouds, and it grew proud on account of its height,
KJVTherefore thus saith the Lord God; Because thou hast lifted up thyself in height, and he hath shot up his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height;
영어 직역그러므로 주 하나님이 이같이 말하노라. 네가 높이에서 너 자신을 높였고, 그가 그의 꼭대기를 굵은 가지들 사이에 올렸으며, 그의 마음이 그의 높이에서 높아졌으므로,
11내가 열국의 능한 자의 손에 붙일지라 그가 임의로 대접할 것은 내가 그의 악을 인하여 쫓아내었음이라
BSBI delivered it into the hand of the ruler of the nations, for him to deal with it according to its wickedness. I have banished it.
KJVI have therefore delivered him into the hand of the mighty one of the heathen; he shall surely deal with him: I have driven him out for his wickedness.
영어 직역나는 그를 열방의 강한 자의 손에 넘겼다. 그가 반드시 그를 다룰 것이다. 내가 그를 그의 악함으로 인하여 쫓아냈다.

BSBForeigners, the most ruthless of the nations, cut it down and left it. Its branches have fallen on the mountains and in every valley; its boughs lay broken in all the earth’s ravines. And all the peoples of the earth left its shade and abandoned it.
KJVAnd strangers, the terrible of the nations, have cut him off, and have left him: upon the mountains and in all the valleys his branches are fallen, and his boughs are broken by all the rivers of the land; and all the people of the earth are gone down from his shadow, and have left him.

BSBAll the birds of the air nested on its fallen trunk, and all the beasts of the field lived among its boughs.
KJVUpon his ruin shall all the fowls of the heaven remain, and all the beasts of the field shall be upon his branches:
영어 직역그의 폐허 위에 하늘의 모든 새들이 남아 있을 것이고, 들의 모든 짐승들이 그의 가지들 위에 있을 것이다.
14이는 물 가에 있는 모든 나무로 키가 높다고 교만치 못하게 하며 그 꼭대기로 구름에 닿지 못하게 하며 또 물 대임을 받는 능한 자로 스스로 높아 서지 못하게 함이니 그들을 다 죽는데 붙여서 인생 중 구덩이로 내려가는 자와 함께 지하로 내려가게 하였음이니라
BSBThis happened so that no other trees by the waters would become great in height and set their tops among the clouds, and no other well-watered trees would reach them in height. For they have all been consigned to death, to the depths of the earth, among the mortals who descend to the Pit.’
KJVTo the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves for their height, neither shoot up their top among the thick boughs, neither their trees stand up in their height, all that drink water: for they are all delivered unto death, to the nether parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit.
영어 직역그것은 물가의 모든 나무들이 높이로 인하여 자신을 높이지 아니하게 하려 함이고, 그들의 꼭대기를 굵은 가지들 사이에 올리지 아니하게 하려 함이며, 그들의 나무들이 높이에서 서지 아니하게 하려 함이니, 물을 마시는 모든 것이 그렇다. 이는 그들이 모두 사람의 자녀들 중에 구덩이로 내려가는 자들과 함께 죽음에, 땅의 아래 부분에 넘겨졌기 때문이다.
15나 주 여호와가 말하노라 그가 음부에 내려가던 날에 내가 그를 위하여 애곡하게 하며 깊은 바다를 덮으며 모든 강을 쉬게 하며 큰 물을 그치게 하고 레바논으로 그를 위하여 애곡하게 하며 들의 모든 나무로 그로 인하여 쇠잔하게 하였느니라
BSBThis is what the Lord GOD says: ‘On the day it was brought down to Sheol, I caused mourning. I covered the deep because of it; I held back its rivers; its abundant waters were restrained. I made Lebanon mourn for it, and all the trees of the field fainted because of it.
KJVThus saith the Lord God; In the day when he went down to the grave I caused a mourning: I covered the deep for him, and I restrained the floods thereof, and the great waters were stayed: and I caused Lebanon to mourn for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him.
영어 직역주 하나님이 이같이 말하노라. 그가 무덤으로 내려가던 날에 내가 애도를 일으켰다. 내가 깊음을 그를 위하여 덮었고, 그것의 홍수들을 막았으며, 큰 물들이 머물렀다. 그리고 내가 레바논이 그를 위하여 애도하게 하였고, 들의 모든 나무들이 그를 위하여 기절했다.
16내가 그로 구덩이에 내려가는 자와 함께 음부에 떨어뜨리던 때에 열국으로 그 떨어지는 소리를 인하여 진동하게 하였고 물 대임을 받은 에덴의 모든 나무 곧 레바논의 뛰어나고 아름다운 나무들로 지하에서 위로를 받게 하였느니라
BSBI made the nations quake at the sound of its downfall, when I cast it down to Sheol with those who descend to the Pit. Then all the trees of Eden, the choicest and best of Lebanon, all the well-watered trees, were consoled in the earth below.
KJVI made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to hell with them that descend into the pit: and all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, shall be comforted in the nether parts of the earth.

BSBThey too descended with it to Sheol, to those slain by the sword. As its allies they had lived in its shade among the nations.
KJVThey also went down into hell with him unto them that be slain with the sword; and they that were his arm, that dwelt under his shadow in the midst of the heathen.
영어 직역그들도 그와 함께 지옥에 내려갔으니, 칼로 죽임을 당한 자들에게 가는 것이고, 그의 팔이 되어 열방의 한복판에 그의 그림자 아래에서 살던 자들이다.
18너의 영화와 광대함이 에덴 모든 나무 중에 어떤 것과 같은고 그러나 네가 에덴 나무와 함께 지하에 내려갈 것이요 거기서 할례 받지 못하고 칼에 살륙 당한 자 중에 누우리라 이들은 바로와 그 모든 군대니라 나 주 여호와의 말이니라 하라
BSBWho then is like you in glory and greatness among the trees of Eden? You also will be brought down to the depths of the earth to be with the trees of Eden. You will lie among the uncircumcised, with those slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, declares the Lord GOD.’”
KJVTo whom art thou thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? yet shalt thou be brought down with the trees of Eden unto the nether parts of the earth: thou shalt lie in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that be slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord God.
영어 직역그러면 넌 에덴의 나무들 중에 영광과 위대함에서 이같이 누구와 같은가? 그러나 넌 에덴의 나무들과 함께 땅의 아래 부분으로 내려가게 될 것이다. 넌 칼로 죽임을 당한 자들과 함께 할례 받지 않은 자들의 한복판에 누워 있을 것이다. 이것이 바로와 그의 모든 무리니라, 주 하나님이 말하노라.
