1이 후에 여호와의 말씀이 이상 중에 아브람에게 임하여 가라사대 아브람아 두려워 말라 나는 너의 방패요 너의 지극히 큰 상급이니라
BSBAfter these events, the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.”
KJVAfter these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.

BSBBut Abram replied, “O Lord GOD, what can You give me, since I remain childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?”
KJVAnd Abram said, Lord God, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?

BSBAbram continued, “Behold, You have given me no offspring, so a servant in my household will be my heir.”
KJVAnd Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.

BSBThen the word of the LORD came to Abram, saying, “This one will not be your heir, but one who comes from your own body will be your heir.”
KJVAnd, behold, the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.

BSBAnd the LORD took him outside and said, “Now look to the heavens and count the stars, if you are able.” Then He told him, “So shall your offspring be.”
KJVAnd he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.

KJVAnd he said unto him, I am the Lord that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it.

BSBAnd the LORD said to him, “Bring Me a heifer, a goat, and a ram, each three years old, along with a turtledove and a young pigeon.”
KJVAnd he said unto him, Take me an heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon.

BSBSo Abram brought all these to Him, split each of them down the middle, and laid the halves opposite each other. The birds, however, he did not cut in half.
KJVAnd he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not.

KJVAnd when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.

BSBWhen the sun had set and darkness had fallen, behold, a smoking firepot and a flaming torch appeared and passed between the halves of the carcasses.
KJVAnd it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.
