1가뭄에 대하여 예레미야에게 임한 여호와의 말씀이라

2유다가 슬퍼하며 성문의 무리가 곤비하여 땅에 앉아 애통하니 예루살렘의 부르짖음이 위에 오르도다
BSB“Judah mourns and her gates languish. Her people wail for the land, and a cry goes up from Jerusalem.
KJVJudah mourneth, and the gates thereof languish; they are black unto the ground; and the cry of Jerusalem is gone up.
영어 직역유다가 애곡하고, 그 성문들이 약해지고 있다. 그들이 땅까지 까맣고, 예루살렘의 부르짖음이 올라갔다.
3귀인들은 자기 사환들을 보내어 물을 길으라 하나 그들이 우물에 갔어도 물을 얻지 못하여 빈 그릇으로 돌아오니 부끄럽고 근심하여 그 머리를 가리우며
BSBThe nobles send their servants for water; they go to the cisterns, but find no water; their jars return empty. They are ashamed and humiliated; they cover their heads.
KJVAnd their nobles have sent their little ones to the waters: they came to the pits, and found no water; they returned with their vessels empty; they were ashamed and confounded, and covered their heads.
영어 직역그리고 그들의 귀인들이 자기들의 어린 것들을 물로 보냈다. 그들이 웅덩이들에 와서 물을 찾지 못했다. 그들이 자기들의 그릇들을 비운 채로 돌아왔다. 그들이 부끄러워하고 당황해했으며, 자기들의 머리를 덮었다.
4땅에 비가 없어 지면이 갈라지니 밭가는 자가 부끄러워서 그 머리를 가리는도다
BSBThe ground is cracked because no rain has fallen on the land. The farmers are ashamed; they cover their heads.
KJVBecause the ground is chapt, for there was no rain in the earth, the plowmen were ashamed, they covered their heads.
영어 직역땅이 갈라졌기 때문이다. 땅에 비가 없었으므로, 쟁기질하는 자들이 부끄러워했고, 자기들의 머리를 덮었다.
5들의 암사슴은 새끼를 낳아도 풀이 없으므로 내어버리며
BSBEven the doe in the field deserts her newborn fawn because there is no grass.
KJVYea, the hind also calved in the field, and forsook it, because there was no grass.

6들나귀들은 자산 위에 서서 시랑 같이 헐떡이며 풀이 없으므로 눈이 아득하여 하는도다
BSBWild donkeys stand on barren heights; they pant for air like jackals; their eyes fail for lack of pasture.”
KJVAnd the wild asses did stand in the high places, they snuffed up the wind like dragons; their eyes did fail, because there was no grass.

7여호와여 우리의 죄악이 우리에게 대하여 증거할지라도 주는 주의 이름을 위하여 일하소서 우리의 타락함이 많으니이다 우리가 주께 범죄하였나이다
BSBAlthough our iniquities testify against us, O LORD, act for the sake of Your name. Indeed, our rebellions are many; we have sinned against You.
KJVO Lord, though our iniquities testify against us, do thou it for thy name’s sake: for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against thee.

8이스라엘의 소망이시요 곤란한 때의 구원자시여 어찌하여 이 땅에서 거류하는 자 같이, 하룻밤을 유숙하는 행인 같이 하시나이까
BSBO Hope of Israel, its Savior in times of distress, why are You like a stranger in the land, like a traveler who stays but a night?
KJVO the hope of Israel, the saviour thereof in time of trouble, why shouldest thou be as a stranger in the land, and as a wayfaring man that turneth aside to tarry for a night?
영어 직역오 이스라엘의 소망이여, 곤란의 때에 그것의 구원자여, 어찌하여 주께서 그 땅에서 타인처럼, 그리고 한 밤을 묵기 위해 돌아서는 길 나그네처럼 되셨나이까?
9어찌하여 놀라 벙벙하는 자 같으시며 구원치 못하는 용사 같으시니이까 여호와여 주는 오히려 우리 중에 계시고 우리는 주의 이름으로 일컬음을 받는 자이오니 우리를 버리지 마옵소서
BSBWhy are You like a man taken by surprise, like a warrior powerless to save? Yet You are among us, O LORD, and we are called by Your name. Do not forsake us!
KJVWhy shouldest thou be as a man astonied, as a mighty man that cannot save? yet thou, O Lord, art in the midst of us, and we are called by thy name; leave us not.
영어 직역어찌하여 주께서 놀라서 어리둥절한 사람처럼, 그리고 구원할 수 없는 큰 용사처럼 되셨나이까? 그런데도 주여, 주께서 우리 가운데 계시고, 우리가 주의 이름으로 불렸다. 우리를 버리지 마소서.
10여호와께서 이 백성에 대하여 말씀하시되 그들이 어그러진 길을 사랑하여 그 발을 금하지 아니하므로 나 여호와가 그들을 받지 아니하고 이제 그들의 죄를 기억하고 그 죄를 벌하리라 하시고
BSBThis is what the LORD says about this people: “Truly they love to wander; they have not restrained their feet. So the LORD does not accept them; He will now remember their guilt and call their sins to account.”
KJVThus saith the Lord unto this people, Thus have they loved to wander, they have not refrained their feet, therefore the Lord doth not accept them; he will now remember their iniquity, and visit their sins.
영어 직역주가 이 백성에게 이같이 말씀하신다. 그들이 이렇게 방황하기를 사랑했으므로, 그들이 자기들의 발을 제지하지 않았다. 그러므로 주가 그들을 받아들이지 아니하신다. 주께서 지금 그들의 죄악을 기억하실 것이고, 그들의 죄들을 방문하실 것이다.
11여호와께서 또 내게 이르시되 너는 이 백성을 위하여 복을 구하지 말라
BSBThen the LORD said to me, “Do not pray for the well-being of this people.
KJVThen said the Lord unto me, Pray not for this people for their good.
영어 직역그러면 주께서 내게 말씀하신다. 이 백성을 위해 그들의 선을 위하여 기도하지 말라.
12그들이 금식할지라도 내가 그 부르짖음을 듣지 아니하겠고 번제와 소제를 드릴지라도 내가 그것을 받지 아니할 뿐 아니라 칼과 기근과 염병으로 그들을 멸하리라
BSBAlthough they may fast, I will not listen to their cry; although they may offer burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them. Instead, I will finish them off by sword and famine and plague.”
KJVWhen they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and an oblation, I will not accept them: but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.

13이에 내가 가로되 슬프도소이다 주 여호와여 보시옵소서 선지자들이 그들에게 이르기를 너희가 칼을 보지 아니하겠고 기근은 너희에게 이르지 아니할 것이라 여호와께서 이곳에서 너희에게 확실한 평강을 주시리라 하나이다
BSB“Ah, Lord GOD!” I replied, “Look, the prophets are telling them, ‘You will not see the sword or suffer famine, but I will give you lasting peace in this place.’”
KJVThen said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, the prophets say unto them, Ye shall not see the sword, neither shall ye have famine; but I will give you assured peace in this place.
영어 직역그러면 내가 말했다. 아, 주 하나님이시여! 보소서, 선지자들이 그들에게 말한다. 너희가 칼을 보지 아니할 것이고, 기근을 가지지 아니할 것이다. 그러나 내가 너희에게 이 곳에서 확실한 평강을 주겠노라.
14여호와께서 내게 이르시되 선지자들이 내 이름으로 거짓 예언을 하도다 나는 그들을 보내지 아니하였고 그들에게 명하거나 이르지 아니하였거늘 그들이 거짓 계시와 복술과 허탄한 것과 자기 마음의 속임으로 너희에게 예언하도다
BSB“The prophets are prophesying lies in My name,” replied the LORD. “I did not send them or appoint them or speak to them. They are prophesying to you a false vision, a worthless divination, the futility and delusion of their own minds.
KJVThen the Lord said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.
영어 직역그러면 주께서 내게 말씀하신다. 선지자들이 내 이름으로 거짓을 예언한다. 나는 그들을 보내지 아니했고, 그들에게 명령하지도 아니했으며, 그들에게 말씀하지도 아니했다. 그들이 너희에게 거짓 환상과 점쳤음과, 무(無)한 것과, 그들의 마음의 기만을 예언한다.
15그러므로 내가 보내지 아니하였어도 내 이름으로 예언하여 이르기를 칼과 기근이 이 땅에 이르지 아니하리라 하는 선지자들에 대하여 나 여호와가 이같이 이르노라 그 선지자들은 칼과 기근에 멸망할 것이요
BSBTherefore this is what the LORD says about the prophets who prophesy in My name: I did not send them, yet they say, ‘No sword or famine will touch this land.’ By sword and famine these very prophets will meet their end!
KJVTherefore thus saith the Lord concerning the prophets that prophesy in my name, and I sent them not, yet they say, Sword and famine shall not be in this land; By sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed.
영어 직역그러므로 주께서 자기 이름으로 예언하는 선지자들에 관하여 이같이 말씀하신다. 그리고 나는 그들을 보내지 아니했는데, 그들이 말하기를 칼과 기근이 이 땅에 있지 아니할 것이라고 한다. 칼과 기근으로 그 선지자들이 소비될 것이다.
16그들의 예언을 받은 백성은 기근과 칼로 인하여 예루살렘 거리에 던짐을 입을 것인즉 그들을 장사할 자가 없을 것이요 그 아내와 그 아들과 그 딸도 그렇게 되리니 이는 내가 그들의 악을 그 위에 부음이니라
BSBAnd the people to whom they prophesy will be thrown into the streets of Jerusalem because of famine and sword. There will be no one to bury them or their wives, their sons or their daughters. I will pour out their own evil upon them.
KJVAnd the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; and they shall have none to bury them, them, their wives, nor their sons, nor their daughters: for I will pour their wickedness upon them.

17너는 이 말로 그들에게 이르라 내 눈이 밤낮으로 끊치지 아니하고 눈물을 흘리리니 이는 처녀 딸 내 백성이 큰 파멸, 중한 창상을 인하여 망함이라
BSBYou are to speak this word to them: ‘My eyes overflow with tears; day and night they do not cease, for the virgin daughter of my people has been shattered by a crushing blow, a severely grievous wound.
KJVTherefore thou shalt say this word unto them; Let mine eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them not cease: for the virgin daughter of my people is broken with a great breach, with a very grievous blow.
영어 직역그러므로 너는 이 말씀을 그들에게 말할지니라. 내 눈들이 밤낮으로 눈물로 흘러내리고, 그들이 멈추지 아니하게 하라. 내 백성의 처녀 딸이 큰 틈으로, 매우 심각한 상처로 부서졌기 때문이다.
18내가 들에 나간즉 칼에 죽은 자요 내가 성에 들어간즉 기근으로 병든 자며 선지자나 제사장이나 다 땅에 두루 다니며 어찌할 바를 알지 못하는도다
BSBIf I go out to the country, I see those slain by the sword; if I enter the city, I see those ravaged by famine! For both prophet and priest travel to a land they do not know.’”
KJVIf I go forth into the field, then behold the slain with the sword! and if I enter into the city, then behold them that are sick with famine! yea, both the prophet and the priest go about into a land that they know not.
영어 직역내가 들로 나가면, 보소서, 칼로 죽임을 당한 자들이다! 그리고 내가 도시로 들어가면, 보소서, 기근으로 병든 자들이다! 참으로, 선지자와 제사장 둘 다 그들이 알지 못하는 땅으로 두루 다닌다.
19주께서 유다를 온전히 버리시나이까 주의 심령이 시온을 싫어하시나이까 어찌하여 우리를 치시고 치료하지 아니하시나이까 우리가 평강을 바라도 좋은 것이 없고 치료받기를 기다려도 놀람을 보나이다
BSBHave You rejected Judah completely? Do You despise Zion? Why have You stricken us so that we are beyond healing? We hoped for peace, but no good has come, and for the time of healing, but there was only terror.
KJVHast thou utterly rejected Judah? hath thy soul lothed Zion? why hast thou smitten us, and there is no healing for us? we looked for peace, and there is no good; and for the time of healing, and behold trouble!
영어 직역주께서 유다를 완전히 버리셨나이까? 주의 영혼이 시온을 싫어하셨나이까? 어찍하여 주께서 우리를 치셨으며, 우리를 위해 치료함이 없나이까? 우리가 평강을 바라보았으나, 선한 것이 없고, 치료의 때를 바라보았으나 보소서, 곤란이다!

BSBWe acknowledge our wickedness, O LORD, the guilt of our fathers; indeed, we have sinned against You.
KJVWe acknowledge, O Lord, our wickedness, and the iniquity of our fathers: for we have sinned against thee.
영어 직역주여, 우리가 우리의 악함과 우리 아버지들의 죄악을 인정한다. 우리가 주께 죄를 지었기 때문이다.
21주의 이름을 위하여 우리를 미워하지 마옵소서 주의 영광의 위를 욕되게 마옵소서 우리와 세우신 주의 언약을 기억하시고 폐하지 마옵소서
BSBFor the sake of Your name do not despise us; do not disgrace Your glorious throne. Remember Your covenant with us; do not break it.
KJVDo not abhor us, for thy name’s sake, do not disgrace the throne of thy glory: remember, break not thy covenant with us.

22열방의 허무한 것 중에 능히 비를 내리게 할 자가 있나이까 하늘이 능히 소나기를 내릴 수 있으리이까 우리 하나님 여호와여 그리하는 자가 주가 아니시니이까 그러므로 우리가 주를 앙망하옵는 것은 주께서 이 모든 것을 만드셨음이니이다
BSBCan the worthless idols of the nations bring rain? Do the skies alone send showers? Is this not by You, O LORD our God? So we put our hope in You, for You have done all these things.
KJVAre there any among the vanities of the Gentiles that can cause rain? or can the heavens give showers? art not thou he, O Lord our God? therefore we will wait upon thee: for thou hast made all these things.
