1예수께서 길 가실 때에 날 때부터 소경 된 사람을 보신지라
BSBNow as Jesus was passing by, He saw a man blind from birth,
KJVAnd as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.

3예수께서 대답하시되 이 사람이나 그 부모가 죄를 범한 것이 아니라 그에게서 하나님의 하시는 일을 나타내고자 하심이니라
BSBJesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but this happened so that the works of God would be displayed in him.
KJVJesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

BSBWhile it is daytime, we must do the works of Him who sent Me. Night is coming, when no one can work.

BSBWhen Jesus had said this, He spit on the ground, made some mud, and applied it to the man’s eyes.
KJVWhen he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,

BSBThen He told him, “Go, wash in the Pool of Siloam” (which means “Sent”). So the man went and washed, and came back seeing.
KJVAnd said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.

8이웃 사람들과 및 전에 저가 걸인인 것을 보았던 사람들이 가로되 이는 앉아서 구걸하던 자가 아니냐
BSBAt this, his neighbors and those who had formerly seen him begging began to ask, “Isn’t this the man who used to sit and beg?”
KJVThe neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?

9혹은 그 사람이라 하며 혹은 아니라 그와 비슷하다 하거늘 제 말은 내가 그로라 하니
BSBSome claimed that he was, but others said, “No, he just looks like him.” But the man kept saying, “I am the one.”
KJVSome said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he.

BSBHe answered, “The man they call Jesus made some mud and anointed my eyes, and He told me to go to Siloam and wash. So I went and washed and received my sight.”
KJVHe answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight.

BSBNow the day on which Jesus had made the mud and opened his eyes was a Sabbath.
KJVAnd it was the sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.

BSBSo the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. The man answered, “He put mud on my eyes, and I washed, and now I can see.”
KJVThen again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see.

BSBBecause of this, some of the Pharisees said, “This man is not from God, for He does not keep the Sabbath.” But others said, “How can a sinful man perform such signs?” And there was division among them.
KJVTherefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.

BSBSo once again they asked the man who had been blind, “What do you say about Him, since it was your eyes He opened?” “He is a prophet,” the man replied.
KJVThey say unto the blind man again, What sayest thou of him, that he hath opened thine eyes? He said, He is a prophet.

BSBThe Jews still did not believe that the man had been blind and had received his sight until they summoned his parents
KJVBut the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight.

BSBand asked, “Is this your son, the one you say was born blind? So how is it that he can now see?”
KJVAnd they asked them, saying, Is this your son, who ye say was born blind? how then doth he now see?

BSBHis parents answered, “We know he is our son, and we know he was born blind.
KJVHis parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind:

21그러나 지금 어떻게 되어 보는지 또는 누가 그 눈을 뜨게 하였는지 우리는 알지 못하나이다 저에게 물어 보시오 저가 장성하였으니 자기 일을 말하리이다
BSBBut how he can now see or who opened his eyes, we do not know. Ask him. He is old enough to speak for himself.”
KJVBut by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for himself.

BSBHis parents said this because they were afraid of the Jews. For the Jews had already determined that anyone who confessed Jesus as the Christ would be put out of the synagogue.
KJVThese words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.

BSBSo a second time they called for the man who had been blind and said, “Give glory to God! We know that this man is a sinner.”
KJVThen again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner.

BSBHe answered, “Whether He is a sinner I do not know. There is one thing I do know: I was blind, but now I see!”
KJVHe answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.

BSBHe replied, “I already told you, and you did not listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you also want to become His disciples?”
KJVHe answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples?

BSBThen they heaped insults on him and said, “You are His disciple; we are disciples of Moses.
KJVThen they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are Moses’ disciples.

KJVThey answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.

BSBWhen Jesus heard that they had thrown him out, He found the man and said, “Do you believe in the Son of Man ?”
KJVJesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?

KJVAnd Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.

BSB“Lord, I believe,” he said. And he worshiped Jesus.

BSBThen Jesus declared, “For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind may see and those who see may become blind.”
KJVAnd Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.

BSBSome of the Pharisees who were with Him heard this, and they asked Him, “Are we blind too?”
KJVAnd some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also?

BSB“If you were blind,” Jesus replied, “you would not be guilty of sin. But since you claim you can see, your guilt remains.”
KJVJesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.
